German Wirehaired Pointers - About Dakota Wirehairs

Thank you for your interest in our German Wirehaired Pointers. The Dakota Wirehair kennels is the culmination of years of planning, research, and effort, resulting in the ultimate breeding facility. Our goal is to provide you with high quality AKC Registered German Wirehaired Pointers.

Dakota Wirehairs - Gary & Deb Arbarch At Dakota Wirehairs we strive to breed dogs for the foot hunter, through selective breeding of top field hunting stock. We feel that in order to achieve a versatile hunting companion you need three areas of excellence; intelligence, nose, and trainability. Breeding is a full time job for us, and we are very proud of my dogs, kennels, and hunting environment. Dakota Wirehairs Kennels is located on the Lewis & Clark Trail, 100 feet from the Missouri River 35 miles north of Bismarck, ND. Our dogs are hunted and trained daily on our 15 acres of wooded property. We feel raising Wirehairs in a natural environment makes better puppies that are birdier and easier to train.

Another advantage of living on the Missouri River is that we have the opportunity to train our German Wirehaired Pointers for water work and retrieving skills on a daily basis. Needless to say, our puppies possess strong retrieving, swimming, and pointing abilities. Our puppies show pointing and retrieving skills at 8 weeks of age. We have approximately six litters per year, and have puppies available year round. We accept seven deposits per litter on a first come first serve basis. The only decision the buyer has to make is the type of coat, the color and the sex of the puppy. Most of our puppies are liver and white with ticking, we also raise black & white. Our dogs will range in size, females weighing 55 to 60 pounds and the males at 60 to 70 pounds. They are medium sized dogs that are easy to feed and work with.

Dakota Wirehairs ships anywhere in the U.S. and Canada, via Northwest Airlines.
